NEW BUSINESS

The question was presented about sponsoring a plaque for CQ DX Marathon or another contest in the future. Alternative financial sponsorship ideas were also mentioned for consideration.

Field Day: We will be at the Tinley Park Mental Health Center as last year with use of the trailer and generator. A discussion of equipment was mentioned as well as filling the overnight shift.  Meal staff was organized with K9PY and N9IHZ to provide Saturday dinner. Equipment has been scheduled.

The EOC antenna is still on hold pending an antenna decision.  An Antenna without radials is required. The Village was given a list of antenna possibilities.  There is a possibility of having a TransWorld antenna being donated to the EOC following its use with National Parks on the Air.

K9CJ reported the SDR Radio project has all parts and is awaiting assembly.

Special Event Station: An operation in early November honoring Walter Cronkite’s 100th anniversary of his birth was discussed. We will request the call W9C.

Guy N9NK gave a brief introduction of his ham experiences to the club.

Following a motion to adjourn by KA9BBQ and seconded by K9PY, the meeting was called to a CLOSE at 20:30.

Following a short break, Mike K9AJ gave a great presentation of his DXpedition to South Georgia Island VP8SGI and South Sandwich Island VP8STI earlier this year.
