It is often asked "Is this contest a Club event?" It is a very good question, so we have listed the contests sponsored by the ARRL and CQ magazine that have Club Contesting categories. Remember, it may be easier to work that rare DX station in a contest!

ARRL Club Competition:

There are nine ARRL-sponsored contests that are designated as Affiliated Club Competitions (ACC) for ARRL and RAC affiliated clubs:

  1. January VHF Contest
  2. RTTY Roundup (January)
  3. (February and March) International DX Contest (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)
  4. June VHF Contest
  5. Field Day (not considered as an ARRL contest)
  6. August UHF Contest
  7. September VHF Contest
  8. November Sweepstakes (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)
  9. (December) 160-Meter Contest
  10. (December) 10-Meter Contest

CQ Club Competition:

1. CQ WW 160 Meter / CW Jan Last full weekend (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)
2. CQ WW RTTY WPX Feb 2nd full weekend
3. CQ WW 160 Meter / SSB Feb Last full weekend (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)
4. CQ WW WPX / SSB Mar Last full weekend (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)
5. CQ WW WPX / CW May Last full weekend (Club results combined for CW and SSB contests)

TEAM Competition

In addition to Club Competition contests, many allow TEAM competition. In particular, the North America QSO Party contests for CW, SSB and RTTY allow for Team competition. There are other contests in addition to the NAQP events that permit Team competition.
